A Mysterious Sea Creature washed up on a beach in Texas City, Texas and was found by Preeti Desai who posted 4 photos on Twitter asking the Biology community What The heck is this??

Eel experts state that the creature is most likely a fang tooth snake-eel also known as Aplatophis chauliodus.
Fang tooth snake-eels live in burrows 100 to 300 feet down in waters stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to French Guiana and only have their snout’s and eyes exposed. These creatures dart to feed on other fish and crustaceans. More information from FishBase which is an online database for fish species.
Any Other possibilities? Bathyuroconger vicinus or Xenomystax congroides.
“All three of these species occur off Texas and have large fang-like teeth,” Tighe told Earth Touch News. “Too bad you can’t clearly see the tip of the tail. That would differentiate between the ophichthid and the congrids.”
Desai has stated publically that she left the dead eel alone to “let nature take its course.”
It is amazing what is out there in the sea and oceans that we do not know anything about. It amazes me even the photos that we see coming back from the Rovers on Mars. In some of the photos it is almost like you can see objects that look recognizable. This creature though is completely unrecognizable!
